신영성의 작업노트' 2012여름

하나의 선을 그어간다. 무수한 선들이 중첩되며 서서히 이미지가 드러난다.

...그리움의 미소, 기쁨의 눈물, 미치게 보고 싶은 사랑, 승리의 환희 그리고 좌절과 절망, 분노, 욕망의 숲, 별이 쏟아지는 하늘, 바람의 바다, 어머니의 섬, 피어나는 촛불, 열정, 꿈꾸는 인간의 모습들...

바람이 분다. 어디에서 어디로 가는가? 인간은 바람 속에 머물다 핀 한 송이 생명 꽃이다. 그것은 나의 자화상이며 오늘을 사는 현대인의 모습이다.

2000년부터 시작된 연작 '바람꽃'에 이어 신영성의 그림 'wonderful day'는 희·노·애·락의 인간 군상을 통해 세상의 모습과 삶의 표정을 담아내는 것이다. 여름이 가고 가을이 오듯, 돌고 도는 인간의 군상들을. 이 땅의 수고가 끝날 때에도 불가사의한 놀라운 일들이 이루어지는 세상을. 지금, 너와 나의 모습을, 과거의 우리를 그리며 미래의 너를 그린다.
신영성은 그림 'wonderful day'에서 고단한 세상의 삶 안에서, 세상을 향해 묻고 있다. 하늘과 땅 사이, 지금의 인간 세상은 어디로 향하는가?
그리고 그림 'wonderful day'를 통해 말하고 있다. 놀라운 그 날들을 찬미하자!

Work Diary, '2012 Summer'

I draw a line. Numerous lines are overlaid with an image being revealed slowly.

... A smile of yearning, tears of pleasure, a crazy love, ecstasy of victory, and frustration and despair, anger, a forestry of desires, the sky flooded with stars, the sea of wind, a mother's island, a burning candle, passion, dreaming people...

A wind blows. From where to where? Human beings are the flowers of life blossomed within the wind. It is my portrait as well as a look of our contemporary people.

Shin Young-sung's painting 'Wonderful Day' following his series of 'Wind Flowers' that began to be produced since 2000 contains the looks of the world and the expressions of life through people affected by pleasure, anger, grief and joy. Just as summer is followed by autumn, so our human images are cycled. When our toils end on this earth, the world will continue to be full of mysterious and wonderful events. I depict your and my looks at present, our looks in the past and your look in the future.
In 'Wonderful Day' or the listless world of life, Shin Young-sung asks the world. Where is our human world between sky and earth headed for?
And he talks through his painting 'Wonderful Day. Let's praise the wonderful days?
